Acknowledge Me

Spending time in the Word of God leaves the reader with a view of the world that transcends the wisdom of man. A person that normalizes the ways of the world will be confused by concepts that the enemy has spent every moment since the fall trying to make oppressive. The way that 66 books, written by 40 authors, over 1500 years, and across 3 continents flow and interact is a miracle orchestrated by divine inspiration. The weight of God’s Word, both spiritually and physically can seem overwhelming. We are told to seek God and, in this obedience, we meet the Heavenly Father walking with us and holding our hand. He inspired a 66-book library that we can hold, and when we understand it, cherish.

As a teacher it is always fun to boil down big concepts into smaller understandable pieces to help everyone understand more of the unfathomable God. We can never fully understand His ways but if we seek, we find more and more until we meet Him face to face. While reading recently the thought occurred that a single theme covers the entire library of scripture. We have all been shown how each book in the Bible represents an aspect of Jesus, and that is absolutely valid. There is a simpler and associated message that the Word of God always conveys as well.

The encouragement of this message is to read the Bible while hearing God’s voice whisper the following message to you. That message is: ACKNOWLEDGE ME. Every book in the Bible is a message from your Heavenly Father asking to be acknowledged. When you acknowledge that you belong to the Creator in Genesis, the Deliverer of Exodus, the Protector and Leader through all of the Torah, the Supplier of Judges to His people, a Source of warning to the Prophets, and the Father to our Savior; you have to develop an overwhelming love and gratitude for the only true God in this world. The laws of the Old Testament were meant to keep the focus of His people on Him (acknowledgement). The fathers of our faith and the prophets always pointed the focus back to the God in obedience. God’s Word became flesh and was sacrificed so we could acknowledge Him as the source for salvation and the only true source of perfect love and grace.

The Bible is a fully functioning revelation of the living God. It tells us who He is, how He moves throughout time, what He desires, what His guidance looks like, how to understand His righteousness, how to see His grace (promises, provision, protection, leading) then and now, and ultimately how to walk in relationship with Him. Every believer is called to obedience that understanding the message of the Bible makes desirable. Readers are allowed to see God holding His children and only asking that they acknowledge Him through repentance and faith. It really is that simple. The Bible is a library showing us all how beautiful the covenant He offers is and always has been. Be encouraged to make notes in your Bible of this theme throughout reading. Acknowledge God, His love, His grace, His mercy, and ultimately His Son who willingly died to give you a path home.
