       Many are confused by the triune Godhead known as the Trinity because the word ‘Trinity’ is not used directly in scripture. Most of those who argue the Trinity are outside the faith so this might help believers remain confident as the deceiver attacks the faithful through false religious attacks and wordplay that rely on ignorance. It cannot be denied that God is expressed in scripture as: God the Father, Jesus Christ the son, and the Holy Spirit. The great commission tells us: “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 29:18) A believer can easily see all three represented by individual passages that describe an infinite God in all three ways. The presence of Jesus the Son coming to earth to die for our salvation and the description of Pentecost in Acts where the Holy Spirit is received by the Apostles gives absolute assurance that we can confidently defend our Triune God.

          But, let’s add a on Old Testament reference to reinforce our conference, faith, hope, and potentially our defense in the presence of false religions looking to undermine the King of kings, and Lord of lords. We can find this awesome reference in the book of Isaiah, chapter 30.

“Therefore Yahweh waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he will rise up to show you mercy, for Yahweh is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him. For people will live in Zion; in Jerusalem, you will surely not weep.Surely he will be gracious to you; when he hears the sound of your cry (repentance), he will answer you (forgiveness). And the Lord will give you the bread of distress and the water of oppression, but your teachers will not hide themselves any longer. And your eyes shall see your teachers (Jesus -called the good teacher- image of the invisible God). And your ears shall hear a word from behind you,(Holy Spirit of God) saying, “this is the way; walk in it, when you go to your right and when you go to your left.” (Isaiah 30:18-21) [The bold additions are by this author for emphasis, not our Father in scripture.]

        The beauty of this verse and the reason it is being shared is that is can deepen our faith in the revelation of God’s truth in scripture and show that He never changes. He has always expressed His existence in three forms to help our feeble minds understand His unimaginable Being. We also see a God waiting for the lost to turn back. He is not passively waiting but actively seeking His children through His Word, His Son, and His Spirit. The Godhead exists for us to draw closer to God so ask Him to reveal its infinite truth so that you can not only have peace but also confidence when the author of confusion (our enemy) tries to undermine our Perfect Father.
