Characteristics of Godly Wisdom (Part 2)

James 3:17)  But the wisdom from above is first (1)pure, then (2)peaceable, (3)gentle, (4)open to reason, (5)full of mercy and (6)good fruits, (7)impartial and (8)sincere.

(2) Peaceable (peace-loving-NIV)

inclined to avoid argument or violent conflict

Godly wisdom always seeks peace. It always has peace at its core. Words meant to hurt or injure don’t create peace. Words of wisdom are meant to build up and never tear down. Peace is attained through kindness. Imagine a situation where we come alongside a lost soul as opposed to standing across from them. Imparting wisdom from a position of partnership instead of opposition allows peace to flourish. Human emotion allows wisdom to become tainted with hurt, resentment, and ideology. Poor wisdom seeks an outcome at the expense of peace. True wisdom allows peace as the words are allowed to grow the recipient over time.
