The Word of God, meant for teaching, reproof, correction and training in righteousness, is often misrepresented to bend God to human desire. This occurs in both religious and secular circles. The concept of correction has become foreign to many as technology provides the communication needed to find validation. The concepts of love and acceptance have become mistakenly interchangeable. True love comes with correction and truth. Truly caring means helping people realize that they are lost or not seeing correctly. The Creator of this world also controls all things in His creation. He knows what is best for His chosen. He gives freely and takes away as well. People wonder why evil exists if God is in control. It is because God’s love gave everyone free will. Love is not really love if it cannot be freely received and returned. God’s love was poured out in creation and again when He chose to offer grace when free will drove His creation into sin and the hands of the enemy. People chose to receive God’s calling through Jesus or deny His open arms and rely on themselves and their empty desires. Then when they wonder lost and empty they blame God who patiently waits for the pain of walking without Him to turn them back.
God wants what is best for all that He calls into relationship. Jeremiah 29:11-13 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you.You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. Sometimes those plans involve taking away the wrong things from His children. Sometimes it means teaching them even if pain and heartache are required to get the attention needed. Being willing to receive the instruction of God is the difference between knowing Jesus exists and making Him your Lord through obedience to His callings. The self-righteous world manipulates God by misrepresenting His heart for His creation. They pick and choose the ways the Bible and Jesus can be manipulated to serve them or uses their displeasure in His correction to deny Him and avoid conflict. The thought of being under any advisement that is not instantly gratifying is too difficult. Each person claims to have their own truth that is in direct conflict with God, the source of all truth.
The visual above represents the way God’s pure white light in the center is mixed with the many desires that change everyday in an unsubmitted heart. As time and continued denial persist the presence of God is slowly covered in self-reliance, self-gratification, denial if God’s authority and sin. The outside of the wheel are the fallen desires of man found in a world controlled by the enemy of God. By not choosing God, the enemy becomes the ruler fleeting desires. Desires that bury people and drive a wedge between their heart and the heart of God.
We see many places in Scripture where believers are warned to be cognizant of a world looking to dilute and manipulate God’s Word. The serpent in the garden manipulated God’s instruction when he deceived Eve. That tool of the deceiver is still active. 1 Peter 5:6-9a Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith… Read and learn God’s Word. Listen to what His stirring in your heart is saying. Know that following the love of God, represented in His Will, is returning that love through submission. Look here below at God’s warnings found in the Bible pleading to His children to hear His voice, follow His Word, and return the greatest love that has ever existed through obedience to the Father.
2 Corinthians 11:3-4 But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough.
2 Timothy 2:15-17a Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness, and their talk will spread like gangrene.
Romans 16:17-18 Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. For such men are slaves, not of our Lord Christ but of their own appetites; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the unsuspecting.
2 Peter 2:1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.
